How to Play The Word Game
Setup
- You need an even number of players (4, 6, 8...)
- Sit in a circle. The people on your left and right are your opponents
- Every other person around the circle is your teammate
- Each player uses the app to generate 4-5 words (use a session to avoid duplicates!)
- Write each word on a separate piece of paper and put them all in the main bowl
- Each team gets their own empty bowl
Round 1 — Describe It
Pick a word from the main bowl and describe it using sentences. You cannot say the word itself! If your team guesses correctly, put the paper in your team's bowl and grab the next word. Keep going until time runs out.
The next player on the opposing team goes next. Continue until the main bowl is empty. Count each team's papers — most papers wins the round!
Round 2 — One Word
All papers go back into the main bowl. This time, you can only say one single word to describe what's on the paper. No miming, no sentences — just one word! Say your word and wait for your team to guess.
Team with most papers wins again!
Round 3 — Mime It
All papers back in the main bowl one last time. Now you must mime the word — no talking at all! If your team can't guess it, keep miming until they get it or time runs out.
Team with the most papers wins the round and the game!
Tips
- Pay attention in Round 1 — you'll see the same words in Rounds 2 and 3!
- Mix difficulty levels for more fun: some easy words and some challenging ones
- Use the Session feature so no two players get the same words
